Railways should manufacture all necessary materials for use in railways. Concrete, electricity production, steel production, etc should be also done by Indian Railways. That will make cost of operations less expensive, I think. And Train 18 trainsets should be strengthened with stronger glass to resist damage. Train 18 trainsets should replace all day time intercity trains. Aerodynamic WAP5s should be mass produced to handle long distance semi-high speed night trains. Abandoned tracks should be restored and run railbuses. For heritage railways like NMR and DHR, parallel single track electrified broad gauge for goods trains will be a good idea. Roll on Roll off goods train will increase revenue and help lorry drivers take a break.
