of Palakkad, Railways has placed a permanent exhibit, a heritage narrow gauge diesel loco, on a specially made podium in front of the approach road connecting the main entry of Palakkad Junction Railway Station today 05.09.2018. <br /> <br />The ZDM type loco which was brought here from Pratap Nagar Diesel Shed, Vadodara by the road truck shifted it to the podium by using the service of a 50 tonne crane. Palakkad Division( Southern Railway) received the heritage loco from Western Railway. Rails and fittings required for the track upon which the engine is to be placed, were made available from Nilgiri Mountain Railway(NMR), Ooty. <br />The new exhibit is likely to create an enthusiasm among the public and expected to reflect upon the technological progress achieved by Railways.
