All the Humsafars are more or less suffering from the problem of flexifare scheme. The biggest flaw with this system is that the fare doesn’t come down when the demand decreases, if you want to implement it thoroughly well, then this must be involved in the algorithm as well. Second is that, that all stations must be brought under GNWL for trains struggling to fill up passengers. Believe it or not, but if done so, this train will attract a lot more passengers in PUNE BSR section alone, because this train leaves just ahead of Intercity and the arrival timings are BSR are much better for passengers in Western Suburbs of mumbai. Plus there is a lot of demand for PUNE ADI trains, and that can be fulfilled with GNWL. Secondly, the journey time should be decreased, this has a lot of slack between PUNE BSR, and can easily cover the...

Railways should seriously stop having ‘creative’ ideas. All those are just worthless, borderline bullshit. No train of GaribRath can be said to be successful as a whole. Duronto and Tejas, which were brought on for supposed ‘competing with Airlines’ have failed miserably and after adding flexifare stupidity, even the traditionally popular Rajdhanis and Shatabdis are failing big time. Plus instead of using this ‘extra’ income, the maintenance is very pathetic indeed. So much so that some zones and divisions have their reputation preceding them. I, when see a train belonging to SR, try to avoid it. There are many more examples. Even today as we discuss 12618 Mangala had a faulty suspension spring in one it’s coaches and was only halted after a TTE noticed it!
