Would like to share my experience on how i booked a tatkal ticket on irctc with normal internet connection.
- Firstly, i forgot to log in at 9:45 and only opened the site at 10:05am.
- 10-12 am:It took 5-7 mins to open the page.
- 10:20 am Then it took another 5-7 mins to open 'Plan my travel page'
-...
more... I was also blogging here
/blog/post/961344 while booking the CK ticket, and no other sites were running, and i also tried to refrain from opening any images or videos here, as that would consume more data volume.
- I had also open another private browsing separate browsing window in Chrome, thinking that incase if the regular browser took time then private browsing would open the page quickly since it doesn't have any cache or cookies baggage with it. But normal browser did the job for me.
- Would also suggest everyone to keep doing something on the IRI or refreshing other site opened in parallel tab as that would keep the internet connection active and running, rather it would slowly hung up if you solely focus on one site as then you might wont know that if the irctc is down or your internet.
- 10:24am Then i quickly searched for the desired train, out of 225 only 30-40 were booked so then quickly filled info for 4 pax and then went ahead.
- 10:26am Oh wait, i had entered the wrong text thank god the page didnt lost, but it quickly came up with another text, filled that in and hit GO.
- 10:28am Now on the payment page, i think i played smart by choosing the internet banking (ICICI) as then i wouldn't have to enter the long 16 digit debit card no. and then cvv number and then secure code, which eventually would have taken lot of time and couple of more internet pages.
- 10:30am So by selecting internet banking i just had to enter username password and transaction password and WOLLA i had a confirm ticket with me.
Hope it would be helpful to the fellow bloggers.
