the state of Uttarakhand consist of two parts or Divisions namely Kumaon and Garhwal, and this is the only train connecting both regions, it starts from Kumaon Region's last terminal Kathgodam and runs with largest city Haldwani, then biggest Junction Lalkuan and at last goes to U.P. border city Rudrapur before entering Uttar Pradesh. in Uttar Pradesh it passes through Rampur, Moradabad and Bijor districts and re-enters Uttarakhand in Garhwal Division in small town of Laksar. Thereafter it goes to holy city of Haridwar and at last, the last terminal of Railway in Garhwal, also the largest city of the region and Capital of Uttarakhand, Dehradun. Unconditionally this train is called Lifeline of Uttarakhand.
