Dense traffic congestion was reported at IRI.COM following declaration of the poll results. The mass media was having a field day with interviews of the winners. One such mediaman visited a victor appropriately called THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Maybe because the results were declared late last night.
As the triumphant candidate was wafting in the glory of his success, the reporter from a well-known TV channel BLACK & WHITE pestered him with what he considered to be vital questions. But to the viewers these appeard as inane as they could be.
How did...
more... you feel after being elected oops (s)elected as an ADMIN of IRI ?
Were you confident of your success ? What message do you wish to convey to the MANGO PEOPLE using rail services in India ? What measures do you propose to take as ADMIN to improve services at IRI if not IR itself ? Any specific site suggestions that you have in mind ? How will you treat your cabinet colleagues, sorry fellow admins, and the common man (members). Such profound and probing posers followed in a rapid-fire volley in quick succession.
To begin with, the winner, basking in the aftermath of his victory and struggling to emerge free from the stranglehold of the innumerable garlands on his neck, appeared to be initially flustered but soon rallied himself to rise to the occasion. He mouthed equally inane platitudes to match the questions that were thrown at him. He pompously declared that he would dedicate himself to the service of IRI and discharge the onerous responsibilities cast on him by an obliging (s)electorate. He remarked that he was confident of his victory right from day 1 of his stint at IRI as a grass root member. His reaction to the honour bestowed on him was much akin to a young researcher who found himself catapulted to fame with a NOBEL so early in his career that there was nothing left for him to achieve in life except SERVICE TO THE POOR . He admitted that he had a great deal in mind for a thorough OVERHAUL & REVAMP at IRI. But would prefer to undertake a meticulous study of the files before he went to town with his plans for its welfare. As part of his responsibility to maintain cordial and harmonious relations with his colleagues at IRI, he planned to attend all ADMIN MEETS without fail. In order not to lose touch with the JANATA JANARDHANAN he spoke of being in constant touch with the members who thronged to IRI with their information needs. The interview was still in progress at the time of going to the press.
