Trip report of DOJ : 11th of November 2012 (Sunday) from
HWH to LTT...
I reached Howrah from Dankuni by train at 20:25 Hrs, in
EMU I spotted 12810 HWH MUMBAI

MAIL as it just departed
from HWH and halted for signal to join main lines from
platform no : 21, it was 20:20 Hrs then...
I some how walked into new complex with my super heavy
luggage which was around 22 Kgs... in time there was
strong urge to relive myself, I took an opportunity...
told my dad to hold the luggage, while I got into B1
coach of SAMALESHWARI EXPRESS which was there in pf no :
18, and then continued my journey with luggage... I some
how reached middle of pf no : 21 sweating heavily and
panting... made myself comfortable and within 10 mins
12022 BARBIL JANSHATABDI came, usual crowd got out from
it then rake was took off to SRC Coaching Yard... While
in pf no : 19 was AZAD HIND EXPRESS, pf no : 20 was
RUPASHI BANGLA EXPRESS and board in pf no : 23 showed
HOWRAH HATIA EXP was to depart from there... I was still
tense as there was still no display or announcement in
pf no : 21 for my train... last at 22:15 Hrs saw huge
crowd coming in battalions on pf no: 21 with luggage...
and coach position were displayed, my seat was in S3
63SL & 64SU... As usual door were locked, and here crowd
was all in anger because no railway authority was there
to open it... finally an pantry guy can running and he
was opening all the doors... There was an gang of
collegeguys & gals opposite my berth, it was very
annoying... While, I played, God always keep me away
from there lousy junky guys... At sharp 22:55 Hrs felt
little movement to old S3 coach which was an ICF
Perumbur built in year 1991... we past Santragachi and
then train picked up some decent speed... as cold winds
were blowing in, it compelled me to close the window
then only I found out that window panes are too shakey
and whilist train is in movement they panes were
automatically going up withing minutes... Arrgghh! mera
naseeb... and I took out my dinner had it later around
00:10 Hrs I was inside my good old chaddar... It was
around 00:50 Hrs in Kharagpur... Next I woke up to see
Tatanagar at 03:15 Hrs, here I re-filled my water can,
train departed and I slept... It was morning, woke up to
see my tran passing through Jaraikela, it was too foggy
and chiling cold... At 06:05 Hrs came Raurkela, heard
announcement for Santragachi - Porbander Kaviguru
Superfast Express arriving, it arrived with an WAP-4 SRC
and we departed... there after it was slow run across
ROU-JSG, as SAMALESHWAR EXPRESS was ahead us with an
orange WDG-3A... strangely we halted at Jharsuguda too
for 5 seconds & some general class passenger climbed our
train... There after it was painfull run,as after every
10 kms we were made to halt then again speeding, may be
some Express train was ahead...? Bilaspur arrived at
around 11:20 Hrs, I got down to click an image of loco
but train was already in movement so catched S1 coach
and made my way through the pantry car, from here bought
Paneer Pakodas worth Rs.20 (which was sold at Rs.25, if
I had buyed it from right sitting from my berth) came to
my berth and had an nice sleep till Durg... Had my light
lunch at 14:30 Hrs... It was nice run across
Dongargarh-Salekasa train was like an snake gliding
through rock cuttings and jungles... Gondia came at
15:40 Hrs, here spotted LTT HATIA SUPERFAST EXP with an
WAM-4 6P TATA, right after some time near Tirora spotted
good old reliable LTT SHALIMAR EXPRESS "KURLA EXPRESS"
with an WAP-4 HWH waist mounted headlight... here after
all the stations passed very quickly... LP was doing
good job of maintaining speed over 80 KMPH... It was
nice evening run across "Toor Dal" (Arhar Dal) fields
till Kamptee... from Kalumna train was crawling at 20
KMPH across Nagpur city... Nagpur came at 17:25 Hrs... I
quickly ran towards loco... Had an word with LP and
clicked pics of loco and again ran back to my coach...
train departed at sharp 17:35 Hrs... saw ADI HOWRAH
EXPRESS waiting for signal to enter Nagpur with WAP-4
SRC... after Buti Bori GITANJALI EXPRESS greeted me with
an WAP-4 SRC... now it was totally dark... we were going
in 50 KMPH till Badnera, there after It was pathetic run
till Bhusaval... At Bhusaval saw VIDARBHA EXPRESS with
it's usual loco link, an very dirty WAP-4 BSL, it was
all way ahead us till Igatpuri, and we were made to
suffer for our 1 Hr late running fault... :( Igatpuri
came at 04:15 Hrs... VIDARBHA EXPRESS was already having
it's loco change & brakers attached... We too were had
loco change but no brakers were attached only single
WCAM-3 KYN... we were in 3rd line & our sibling VIDARBHA
was over middle line, it was all 19-20 game (unnis-bees
ka khel) between us, an group of boys were teasing us
when their train was going ahead and we too were teasing
them... finally Kasara arrived VIDARBHA halted there,
while our train just slowed there for an moment and we
were whizing fast all suburbun stations except Titwala,
were an EMU was allowed to go before us... Kalyan came
at 05:40 Hrs... wew past Parsik tunnel, didn't halted at
Thane but were going over the 6th line till LTT... LTT
arrived at 06:45 Hrs... we were just arriving in pf no :
01 and from pf : no : 03 LTT GKP KASHI EXPRESS was
departing... In pf no : 02 was LTT BHAGALPUR SUP EXP...
Finally end of an long trip by nice train but not nice
coaches... Sleeper coaches of CR are outerly well
painted but it's all damaged window panes and locks...
