A passenger of Rajdhani Express had to bear the brunt of the pantry staff for lodging complaints over poor quality of food.
Saroj Padhy, the traveller, was allegedly assaulted by the staff. He lodged a complaint with the Railway Protection Force who, in turn, reported the matter to Government Railway Police here.
Padhy, an inspector with Indo Tibetan Police Force (ITBP) was returning from Moghulsarai. He had boarded the train on Tuesday evening. When the dinner was served, he found the quality of dal to be very poor. It was not just him who found the quality sub-standard, his co-travellers too were peevedwith the food. Padhy had lodged a complaint with the pantry staff.
On Wednesday morning when the breakfast was served, the food was found to be of poor quality again and Padhy decided to lodge a complaint with the staff once again. However, instead of taking action on his complaint, the pantry staff - six of them - allegedly targeted Padhy.
Padhy told police that the staff overpowered him and wrapped him with bedsheets and rained blows. Some of them even used the fry-pan and spoons to hit him.
The incident happened near Gaya. A counter FIR has been lodged by the pantry staff alleging that they were abused and roughed up by Padhy. The Government Railway Police has referred the matter to its Gaya counterpart.
