The first installation of aluminum rails on a main line used for regular passenger services took place at the Central Metro station, covering 70 meters. This upgrade is expected to improve the overall performance and stability of Metro trains. The aluminum rails are more efficient and provide better conductivity, reducing voltage drop issues. They also minimize the heat generated by friction between the rails and the third rail current connectors (TRCCs), contributing to a more controlled temperature within the tunnels.
