Over the past months, there has been a surge in arrests of Bangladeshi and Rohingya individuals attempting to depart Tripura by train or vehicle. In response to this trend, Tripura's Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, met with the Border Security Force (BSF) in July, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and stricter action against those aiding illegal entry. The BSF has consequently increased security measures at border outposts, launched special operations against touts and smugglers, and intensified anti-trafficking efforts. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also made several arrests while investigating a human trafficking case.
