Focus On Vande Bharat, Not On Trains For Poor? What Railway Minister Said

India's 2024-25 budget prioritizes job creation, rural development, and increased funding for states while maintaining a narrow fiscal deficit. Although the budget allocated significant resources to Railways, it lacked major new announcements. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the substantial increase in capital expenditure on Railways over the past five years, noting...

a 77% increase compared to the previous period. He emphasized the significant investments in track construction, electrification, and safety, with a considerable increase in safety-related investments. The Minister also addressed concerns about focusing on high-speed Vande Bharat trains over trains for the less affluent, emphasizing that the Railways cater to both segments. He announced the production of 2,500 non-AC coaches and an additional 10,000 over the next three years to meet the growing demand for affordable travel. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the budget, claiming it was weak and did not address issues like accidents and reduced coach numbers, calling it a lack of accountability. The Railway Minister countered these claims by emphasizing the government's commitment to safety and ongoing efforts to improve rail travel.

India ka 2024-25 budget job creation, rural development aur state ko zyada fund transfer karne par focus karta hai, aur saath hi fiscal deficit ko control mein rakhta hai. Budget mein Railways ko aacha kharcha diya gaya hai, lekin koi bada announcement nahi kiya gaya. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ne pichhle...

Unhone 2,500 non-AC coaches aur agle teen saalon mein 10,000 aur non-ac coaches banane ka announcement kiya, jisse sasta travel ke badhte demand ko pura kiya ja sake. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge ne budget ko kamzor bataaya aur kaha ki usme accidents aur kam coachon jaise issues par kuchh nahi kaha gaya.
