Arun himself fell onto the tracks and was hit by the train. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel who were on the platform stopped the train, and Arun was pulled out, but he had already died. The GRP helped his wife and child disembark and identified Arun. His wife was distraught and cried out loud upon seeing his body. The GRP sent her and the child back to Dhanbad. After a post-mortem, Arun's body was handed over to his family, who performed his last rites in the evening. The platforms at Kumardubi are unsafe, with a significant gap between the train and the platform, leading to frequent incidents of people falling. Residents have repeatedly complained to the railway management and requested that the gap be reduced for safety, but their pleas have been ignored. Arun's death is considered a consequence of this negligence.

Jab train Kumardubi pahuchi, toh Arun ek kam crowded compartment mein jaane ki koshish ki. Pehle unhone apni biwi ko compartment mein chadha diya aur phir baby ko god mein liye khud compartment mein chadhne ki koshish ki. Lekin train chalu ho gayi, aur Arun unbalanced ho gaya aur gir gaya. Jab unko samjha ki woh gir rahe hain, toh unhone baby ko platform par phenk diya, jahan dusre passengers ne use pakad liya. Arun khud platform ke niche gir gaya aur train ke peheyon se takraye. Platform par maujud RPF aur GRP personnel ne train rok di, aur Arun ko bahar nikala gaya, par unki maut ho chuki thi. GRP ne unki biwi aur bacche ko compartment se bahar nikala aur Arun ki pehchan karwayi. Unki biwi bahut dukhi thi aur Arun ka body dekh kar loudly rone lagi.
