It has been close to 4 months since inauguration of Nasipur Bridge by PM Himself, yet NOT A SINGLE PASSENGER TRAIN has been run along this bridge, connecting Murshidabad Jn (MBB) to Azimganj Jn. (AZ). This has been a long long pending (decades old) demand of Murshidabad District passengers/commuters - to connect both parts of the district separated by Ganga/Bhagirathi river, but both SDAH and HWH Divs of ER or RB are least bothered about the pain and troubles of the passengers here.

Who am I to have expectations? Where am I setting expectations - especially for long distance trains? Show me my comment demanding/advocating for "24 coacher long distance trains"... go ahead, I dare you!

The long comment is to make an educative and exhaustive commentary, that could have well been shortened to a couple of lines of কাঁচা বাংলা খিস্তি to address your pressumptuous condescending nonsensical notions, which BTW just proves my point in the first place! But since this was still a civilized discourse the last time I had checked :
...

1. If stations at Ranaghat or Krishnanagar look at Markets, then what do you have to say regarding your Bidhannagars or Jadavpurs or Ballygunges? Before pointing your finger at somone else, make sure you too aren't tainted by the same accusations that you gleefully make! This is a Pan-South Bengal phenomenon (thanks to decades of Leftist Misrule), can't single out stations of just two districts, can you? And BTW, why did Railways/RPF/GRP even allow them to be set up in the first place?

2. You have railway station-cum-garbage dumps in the Circular line of your great Megacity, where even 10-12 coach EMU trains need to be stopped twice to accomodate passengers of all trains, and you have the sheer audacity to foul-mouth with Ranaghat and Krishnanagar?

3. Everyone who hasn't been living under the cave knows about the Hazarduari incident, and that was no doubt a shameful episode. But what has that got to do with taking a decision to not to run trains across the Nasipur bridge - even local MEMU trains? Never knew I would have to converse with yet another IT Cell Whatsapp University dropout here.

And going by your enchanted logic, why then waste crores of tax money to build that bridge and get it inaugurated by the PM Himself in the first place? Hell, if one standalone Hazarduari incident (which happened at just one place called Beldanga) is the only bone of contention, then why run trains on that route - Railways should stop all services to and from Nadia and Murshidabad districts, right? Noone is in need of any Charity work, certainly not the commuters of the two said districts!

And speaking of burning public property, whilst picking up the Hazarduari incident, are you also going to mention the decades of rampant bus and tram incinerations that the streets of Kolkata saw years ago? After all, those too were cases of public property being vandalized by the local public, right?

You need to understand I live in a small village of Hooghly... telling me stuffs about Kolkata ain't gonna trigger me... I'm least concerned about Kolkata... & খিস্তি ? You're exposing your upbringing! maintain the decorum here & stay cool. We don't write such things here.

This project was pending since several years only because the people of your 'prosperous' districts refused to give land! Where were you with your victim cards then? Didn't think of development theories then?

People of Murshidabad & Nadia created the hype themselves, behaving as if that small bridge deserves Darjeeling Mail! বামন হয়ে চাঁদে হাত বাড়ানো😂 Why such mentality to snatch trains of other routes? Even when Darjeeling Mail was denied, they went on demanding either of Uttarbanga or Kanchankanya!

Reserved class passengers of Bhagirathi regularly complain of daily passengers playing cards, smoking, occupying seats ... Just imagine if Ganadevta / Azimganj Kaviguru gets extended there...it will be a nightmare for the passengers from Bolpur/Rampurhat! The trains will become just like the dirty smelly Lalgola Passenger trains

Did you also happen to provide a reflection of your upbringing when suggested people should swim across the river to catch trains, or when you started the namecalling with terms like "illiterate"?

1. For starters I travel quite frequently in reservation compartments of Bhagirathi, Hazarduari, DhanaDhanye etc., and never have I ever come across such dastardly accusations of fellow passengers playing cards, smoking, occupying reserved seats, nor have I heard of such complaints/rumours even. I regularly use my laptop at ease whilst taking rides on these trains (my livelihood demands me to),
...

never having to bother about unwarranted passengers boarding!

As a matter of fact, rather I have also seen instances, when ignorant passengers enter the reservation coaches without a reserve-ticket, they are often seen hurrying out towards unreserved coaches in order to avoid paying fines/penalties. Trains on this route with reservation coaches always have strict TTEs swarming in and out constantly - you're most welcome to try any of these trains out!

2. Noone has created any hype, relax kid! There has never been any official word out there of Darjeeling Mail or Uttarbanga to switch routes via Nasipur Bridge (nor have I ever heard of any such demands)! That would be counterproductive - as those trains also have high patronage of passengers from Bardhaman and Birbhum districts. There however have been high demands of trains of MEMU local trains connecting the two sides with important towns/stations, followed by in the due course (let's say a distant future for your own convenience) - some allocation of couple of long distance trains to North Bengal and across the country, as and when platform lengths are increased along this route. Is this ask a "বামন হয়ে চাঁদে হাত বাড়ানো" scenario too?

3. And last but not the least, you - a resident of Hooghly district should be the last one to point fingers at others for land aquisition issues holding back rail projects... How's the Bhaba Dighi land still holding up? Isn't the Goghat - Kamarpukur - Joyrambati an even bigger headache of Railways for decades together now? At least Nasipur was still a more ambitious project - requiring a lot more land to construct a super-structure over the Ganga River! Your (or rather OUR) district could not even sort out a small pond/Dighi issue!

And not to mention the entire world is familiar with Hooghly district's historical record when it comes to land acquisition hurdles - the mega Gurgaon-like DLF World-City proposed in Dankuni never happened, EDFC - proposed to start from Dankuni in Bengal is now stands cancelled, and lest we forget - SINGUR...

Listen man, I am no resident of Nadia nor Murshidabad, just that work-travel takes me frequently to all these cities (and beyond). An original native of Konnagar myself, all districts of Bengal including Nadia and Murshidabad, and of course my own Hooghly matter to me equally. I wish to see this state achieve its true glory and potential that it holds, and each district irrespective of their unfortunate histories has to play an equal role in the progress of this entire state. It's time they deserved the best of all possible facilities. As a matter of fact, I am also the same person who equally advocates for immediate completion of Goghat - Baragopinathpur section, so that Howrah - Hooghly - Bankura could be interconnected within a mere couple of hours at the earliest!

In the midst of all that, high-handed Calcatian attitude to look down upon each other is the last thing we need right now (ergo, my slight uncalled-for grudge towards certain know-it-all Kolkata people). Is it not enough that people from outside Bengal badmouth this state and its humble demography already - we need to put down each other now too?

That's too many lines and time devoted on this discourse from my end. Ciao...

I guess they built the bridge for mostly freight purpose. I do not really think that long distance trains should be run through this route (platform too short). Rather they should be given halt at Khagrahat Road and Azimganj Jn. New and frequent EMU trains should be introduced between Ranaghat and Azimganj Jn. using the bridge. Maybe 13177/78 should be run along this route thru Nasipur Bridge. In that way, maybe long distance train might not be running directly thru this route but you guys will be able to board them still. I guess that is the best way to approach this issue. What do y'all think?

As you are trying to uplift a clean image of Bhagirathi Express ... I'm not writing much, just attaching proofs . I must mention all types of Alcohol are available from onboard catering in Bhagirathi Express click here 🥴

Nadia/Murshidabad districts have been literally begging for Darjeeling Mail/Kanchankanya/Uttarbanga... from passenger association to newspaper editors...again few proofs attached

Why

not call them illiterate? They are burning trains at different stations! If someone investigate why they are burning trains... everyone will get to know what is the Nationality of the people living there

And lastly Hooghly district people are not crying for trains all day, we get enough trains...
