The Mahalakshmi Express, one of the highest revenue-generating trains on the Central Railway's Pune division, is having one of its reserved coaches reduced starting Saturday, May 25th. This decision has angered passenger organizations, who were demanding an increase in coaches, not a reduction. They have threatened to protest if the decision...

is not reversed. The train, which connects Kolhapur and Mumbai (train number 17411/17412), recently switched to new LHB coaches in January 2024. Despite consistently high demand with waiting lists exceeding 500 passengers, the train, which departs Kolhapur daily at 8:50 PM, will have its S11 coach removed. The organizations argue that reducing coaches while the train consistently generates 1.5 million rupees per trip is unfair, especially considering the Mahalakshmi Express has been running on this route since 1971. The decision has been criticized as being out of touch with passenger needs and potentially harmful to the train's capacity.

Central Railway Pune Division ke sabse zyada paisa kamaane wali trainon mein se ek, Kolhapur-Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalakshmi Express se ek reserved coach Saturday, 25 May se kam kiya ja raha hai. Is decision se railway passenger organization bahut angry hai.

Lekin, is train ka S11 reserved coach band karne ka decision liya gaya hai. Har din is train mein 500 se zyada passengers waiting list mein hote hain. Yeh train har din raat 8:50 PM par Kolhapur se Mumbai ke liye chalta hai. Organizationon ka kehna hai ki jab yeh train har trip mein 1.5 million rupees kama rahi hai, tab ek coach kam karna unfair hai. Is train ka operation 1971 se chalu hai. Yeh decision passengers ki needs ko samjhna nahi hai aur isse train ki capacity ko nuksan ho sakta hai.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
