The divisional railway manager's office will be moved to Wadi Bunder. A large concourse will be built over the suburban platforms. An elevated deck on P D’Mello Road will cater to long-distance trains and have ticket counters, air-conditioned waiting areas, food stalls, and shopping malls. The heritage station will have a roof plaza with a food court, waiting lounge, and a children’s play area. The city centre will be built away from the station and might serve liquor with state government approval. The new railway buildings will be kept shorter than the CSMT dome to preserve its heritage, while the existing structures will retain their 1930s look. The Byculla station, without height restrictions, could feature a 30-storey skyscraper. CSMT will be integrated with Metro lines 3 and 11. The project is expected to be completed in four years.
