Is technology ko demonstrate karne ke liye BARC ne India ke alag alag jagah pe water purification units install kiye hai. Mumbai mein, Central Railway (CR) ke station pe 10 BARC technology-based water purification units (750/500 LPH capacity) install kiye gaye hai. 3 units CSMT pe (750 LPH capacity), 4 units LTT pe (500 LPH capacity), 2 units Dadar pe (500 LPH capacity) aur 1 unit Dockyard Road pe (750 LPH capacity) install kiye gaye hai. January 6, 2023 ko BARC, Mumbai aur CR ke Mumbai Division ke beech Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) sign kiya gaya tha. Iske under, 10 units ko January 27, 2024 ko railway authorities ko handover kiya gaya. MoA ke mutabik, BARC technology licensee next one year tak units ka maintenance karega. DAE Secretary, Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty ne bataya ki Jal Jeevan Mission ke saath alignment mein, DAE ne brackish & seawater desalination aur point-of-use water purification technologies ko India ke rural, remote aur strategic locations pe deploy kiya hai. Unhone BARC-developed know-how ko entrepreneurs dwara adopt karne ki jarurat par zor diya, taki is technology ka wider dissemination aur commercial deployment ho sake. BARC Director, Shri Vivek Bhasin ne bataya ki BARC ne alag alag site- aur case-specific, robust desalination aur water purification technologies develop kiye hai. Yeh technologies fluoride, arsenic, iron, heavy metals, salinity etc. jaise ground water contaminants ko remove kar sakte hai, aur common masses ko safe drinking water provide kar sakte hai.
