Sahibabad-Duhai stretch of RRTS a lifeline for students

The 17 km stretch of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot in Uttar Pradesh has been operational for nearly three months. Students from nearby areas are finding it convenient, saving time and money on their daily commutes. The RRTS has a daily footfall of around 3,000...

commuters, mostly students. The system includes five stations: Duhai Depot, Duhai, Guldhar, Ghaziabad, and Sahibabad. The full 82 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, expected to be operational by June 2025, is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Meerut to under an hour. However, some commuters, like Suhani Kumari, find the ₹50 fare for a five-station journey expensive, despite the time-saving advantage. Others, like Nitish Aggarwal, are experiencing the new system out of curiosity. The RRTS has also brought hope for increased business opportunities for local vendors, such as Kanhaiya Lal, who anticipates increased demand for snacks and transport once the full corridor is operational.

Uttar Pradesh mein Sahibabad aur Duhai Depot ke beech 17 km ka Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stretch, almost 3 months se chalta hai. Paas ke area ke students ko yeh bahut aasaan lag raha hai, unka daily commute ka time aur paisa bach raha hai. RRTS mein har din almost...

3,000 log travel karte hain, zyadatar students hain. Is system mein 5 stations hain: Duhai Depot, Duhai, Guldhar, Ghaziabad, aur Sahibabad. 82 km ka pura Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, June 2025 tak operational hone wala hai, aur isse Delhi aur Meerut ke beech ka travel time 1 hour se kam ho jaayega. Lekin, kuchh commuters, jaise Suhani Kumari, ko 5 stations ke journey ka ₹50 fare bahut zyada lag raha hai, haalaanki yeh unka time bachata hai. Dusre, jaise Nitish Aggarwal, yeh naya system dekhe ke liye excited hain. RRTS se local vendors, jaise Kanhaiya Lal, ko business badhne ki umeed bhi hai, unko lagta hai ki pura corridor operational hone ke baad snacks aur transport ki demand badh jaayegi.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
