As a matter of fact, only 16 WAP- 6 were ever made (numbered from 22401 to 22416), and homed at ASN shed. After the locos failed to meet their expectations, the first 15 locos were converted to WAP- 4 and transferred to HWH. And 22416 was never spotted again (at most probable, it was scrapped for unknown reasons).
The train, which was once known as Indian Imperial Mail, and was the world's most luxury train, uses the Mumbai CST- Kalyan- Manmad- Bhusaval- Khandwa- Itarsi- Jabalpur- Katni- Satna- Manikpur- Allahabad- Mughal Sarai- Gaya- Dhanbad- Asansol- Burdwan- Howrah route.
