Arakkonam Junc (AJJ) has bad track setup ever. It does not work like Virar station in Mumbai , they need to change it like Virar.
Traveled in Sapthagiri recently. Train shifted from fast track (3rd track) to 1st track slow track at Thiruvalangadu and after Puliyamangalam , where basically its a bottleneck cause 3rd track and 4th become single line and become two tracks and again it splits , sapthagiri shifted to 3rd platform cause it needs to go towards TRT side. Total time for all these changes took more than...
more... 20 mins. They have bad setup.
Instead , here is the suggestion for AJJ changes:
1st slow line EMU and 2nd slow line EMU should go end in 1A and 7th PF ! on left most side as main line.
3rd fast line and 4th fast line should go straight to PF1 and 2 as main line so that train towards CBE or Kerala can go at 110 to 130 from Puliyamangalam towards PF 1 and return in PF 2 towards KPD straight (Like virar station)
Train towards TPTY coming at 3rd and 4th fast line will take loop at right and join PF3 and PF4 and go straight from there towards TRT (in this case TPTY train has only 1 looping towards its own main line instead of doing it 10 times lol)
PF8 on left most and PF5 on right most will be the loop PFs for overtakes, starting or term train at AJJ.
Also PF number needs to be changed ASAP.
Basically PF5 should be PF1 and 4 should 2 and 3 should be 3 , 2 should be 4, 1 should be 5 and 1A should be 6 , 6 should be 7 and 7 should be 8!
That would make more sense.
