My potential reasons:
1. Locals/PASS/PASS Conv Exp - May does not carry same amount of pax due to improved roadways and infra in states. Some have been discontinued post pandemic.
2. People affordability went up and they prefer resv.
3. Trains getting reduced UR/SL means loss of pax.

more... Apart from VB not much trains introduced like in the past when RB used to be there. I don't recall any Daily SF trains introduced in SR post RB scrap.
5. Zones needs to optimize operations to improve their efficiency, Apart from NCR/WCR dont see any zone really cared to improve operations inspite of exponential infra upgrades done to add more load to the system, the worst part is punctuality has detroited.
please wait...Translate to EnglishMy possible reasons could be:
1. The number of passengers may have decreased due to better roads and infrastructure in the states. Some routes have been discontinued after the pandemic.
2. People can afford reservations now and prefer them.
3. The reduction in unreserved and sleeper class compartments in trains has led to a loss of passengers.
4. There haven't been many new trains introduced, unlike in the past when the Railway Board was present. I can't recall any daily superfast trains introduced in the Southern Region after the Railway Board was abolished.
5. Zones need to improve their efficiency by optimizing their operations. Except for the North Central Region and West Central Region, I don't see any other zone putting much effort into improving operations despite upgrading infrastructure to handle more load. The worst part is that punctuality has worsened.
