Great Useful Great Great Useful Great Useful Great Great Great Great Great Great
Had a Special Trip back to Delhi after Darbhanga Visit and Patna Visit. DOJ 22nd June 2023
Got shunted on Platform some 5 minutes before departure time.
Low Platform height at Ara is truly a grave concern. It's highly dangerous especially with luggage and rush.
ECR is truly pathetic at maintainence of it's stations.

was well maintained, clean. There was a lot of water between the glasses on the Door Of AC Coach. Toilets were clean but later got stenched courtesy of Idiot Passengers. Smells coming from 3E and 3A were totally unbearable.
Got good priority all the way. Reached DDU Outer some 40 minutes before time. Reached Prayagraj with delay of 10 minutes. Got some delay till Kanpur but covered it, reached 20 minutes before time at Ghaziabad Outer got heavily regulated and reached Anand Vihar Terminal 40 minutes late.

Useful
The room in the lounge seems small though I am comparing it to the rather spacious double retiring room I last used at Guwahati :p. Also, off topic, but did anyone know that Gwalior has a 'Maharaja' class retiring room option as well? Their double bed retiring room is slightly expensive than other stations and I assume Maharaja version would match hotel prices easily.

You mentioned low platform height at Ara. Passengers still need to use the train's 'stairs' to hop onto it? Is it the issue at all platforms at

Ara? I am surprised because it lies on such a busy route. Even on new routes like Lucknow - Sitapur [ recently broad gauged ], stations except halt ones, have proper height platforms. I remember these low height platforms and my village station had one in the single diesel era of yore. But now, it has proper two platforms with FOB.

It's not a private room per say, it's kind of a private partition in a big room, I was standing near curtain. There's only one AC being used to cool entire room and even that becomes useless once you use the curtains for basic privacy.
Only passed through Gwalior on different trains, never actually stayed there. So no idea about Maharaja Room

In Ara Junction, Platform # 1 is normal height. It's normally used by trains going towards Patna.
Platforms 2 & 3 are totally low, you'd end up using entirety of stairs of train. Your hands would've to be free in order climb up there, you cannot carry anything in your hand while climbing up.
I had purchased some Water Bottles for one Aunty traveling in the Lower Berth in front of me. I had to place them on walkway near doors before climbing.

difficult for Old People or People with heavy luggage, especially when halt time is equal to or less than 5 minutes.
And kind of Rush Ara Sees ?? It's a tragedy waiting to happen. ECR is grossly incompetent in maintenance of it's stations. Even Patna Junction looks nothing like NSG1 Category Junction of a State Capital.

I have a night stay in Gwalior's retiring room in December. Just wish to see how many Maharaja suites are there. Probably exist due to foreign tourist footfall there.

I always thought Ara was a decent station. With 150+ halting trains, coach indicators and Railwire Wifi [as indicated here on IRI], I am surprised something as basic as platforms are not catered to.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
