A Genuine Demand gets rejected citing "Lack of Space, Slots and excessive congestion". Any of these stations could've been developed as a dumping ground/terminal for long distance trains but they selected abandonment over development.
Some of these routes had the potential to be alternatives to currently congested routes if connected properly but freights are the prime focus so we have these.
Ahmedabad Mahesana Route gets FEDL DFC before it's original Line got doubled ЁЯШВ, that itself speaks volumes about priorities.
