Get off here for Sri Sailam Devasthanam. So, I'm gonna tell you about my recent visit. 1. If you're with your old fam members who prefer train travel, then only plan through this route; otherwise, just take a bus from BZA or SC directly. 2. They got an AC Dormitory for guys on the regular. 3. If you put in some work, you can book a taxi in advance. They'll pick you up from MRK, take you around all the sights, and bring you back to MRK. It'll cost you around 6000 - 7000, toll not included (I asked some folks at the station about it, mainly this 12-seater jeep called Force Toofan, filled with South Indian fams). We were just 3 people so we took the bus instead. 4. First bus arrives at MRK around 5:30 am and it leaves 10-15 minutes later. Costs around 105 per person. Takes about 4 hours, including a ½ hour break for chai and food, and loading stuff for Srisailam. No idea about other buses after that. 5. Auto from MRK to MRK bus stand costs 25 per person. 6. First bus from MRK bus stand is at 5 am. Normal bus is 100, Delux is 195, and Ultra Delux is 250. 7. It's better to book your accommodation in advance from the Devasthanam website or somewhere else. There are many community-based Dharamshalas and they offer lunch and dinner too. 8. For Darshan, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are crowded according to others, so I went on weekdays from Wednesday to Friday. 9. There are 4 types of darshan: i) Free Darshan - takes around 1½ to 2 hours, depending on when you get in line. ii) Sheegra Darshan at 150 - No idea, but as far as I saw, you just skip a few halls and join the free Darshan line. iii) Ati Sheegra Darshan at 300 - No idea, but as far as I saw, you skip a few more halls and join the free Darshan line. iv) Sparsha Darshan at 500 - In my opinion, just go for free Darshan or Sparsha Darshan. For Senior Citizen Darshan, the young person with them has to buy a 300 ticket. 10. Devasthanam Annaprasadam is available only for lunch, starting from around 11 am. 11. For North Indians: A. Roti = Maida Roti B. Chapati = Maida Roti fried with oil on both sides. C. Parantha = Lachcha Parantha fried with oil on both sides. D. Sometimes they have jawar roti available. E. Dosa, Idli, Vada, Rice, Fried Rice, and other South Indian dishes are available in large quantities. F. The tea from local tea stalls, even for 10 rupees, is really good. That's about it, folks.
