It all depends upon how well the rakes are maintained by respective cdo's.. In current scenario, even seshadri's rake is maintained once in 4 days only... in other words seshadri has 4 rakes and 1 rake is maintained daily at Kakinada.. As Kakinada's maintenance is decent enough, people of ncj /SR are nt complaining..
Similarly, even if RSA is established between island and sbc ncj (extension to cape can be considered in order to eradicate lay over time and enable rake switch), the combo needs 4 rakes and 1 rake can...
more... be maintained daily at Sbc as is being done now for seshadri exp
sbc cape island exp
20:10 (sbc) 15:05 (cape)
cape ncj sbc / svmb exp
18:40(cape) 19:10 (ncj) 9:10 (sbc / svmb)
svmb/sbc ncj cape exp
17:15 (svmb/sbc) 7:40 (ncj) 8:10 (cape)
cape sbc island exp
10:10 (cape) 6:40 (sbc)
pros:
1) currently island exp is having large idling time at both sbc and cape ends. idling time at cape can be completely eradicated.
2) no additional burden on sbc / cape / svmb
3) efficient utilisation of rakes.. 4 rakes in place of 5 required for these pair of trains.
4) scr will be out of picture for sbc ncj between swr and sr.
5) seshadri exp will be free for rsa with other scr trains.
please wait...Translate to EnglishIt all depends on how well the rakes are maintained by the respective CDOs (I'm guessing it's some sort of railroad maintenance team). Right now, even the Seshadri Express is only being maintained once every four days, but since the maintenance in Kakinada is decent enough, the people in NCJ/SR aren't complaining. If the Island and SBC NCJ are combined, they'll also need four rakes that can be maintained daily at SBC to avoid layovers and enable easy switching between the rakes. The schedule for the trains is as follows:
SBC Cape Island Express:
20:10 (SBC) to 15:05 (Cape)
Cape NCJ SBC / SVM Express:
18:40 (Cape) to 19:10 (NCJ) to 9:10 (SBC/SVMB)
SVM/SBC NCJ Cape Express:
17:15 (SVM/SBC) to 7:40 (NCJ) to 8:10 (Cape)
Cape SBC Island Express:
10:10 (Cape) to 6:40 (SBC).
Pros:
1) The Island Express currently has a lot of idling time at both the SBC and Cape ends. The idling time at Cape... (text cuts off).
