If you think this is the only reason why am saying this then you are wrong. All am saying is SWR is getting a taste of its own medicine.
Anyways some facts to clear the cloud :
1....
more... As per RTI reply dates 22/07/22, Vasco is capable to handle LHB Rakes yet the plotted LHB rakes were withdrawn by SWR for reasons known to HQ.
2. Vasco has always been on loosing end. First there are no dedicated trains connecting Mumbai and any proposal by CR/KR is met with the same reason by SWR "Path not available due to movement of Coal rakes"
3. There was an urgent need to increase in services of Vasco Kulem. Same reason given by SWR and hardly there are 3 services per day. It was even given second hand DEMU rakes less than a year ago and before that passengers here used to travel in stinking, rickety old coaches whose codal life was over.
4. Now for Goa Express... This is the only train that connects Vasco to Delhi via Belgavi - Miraj - Manmad and this is highly patronised route but sadly it is still running with 80s TT of 55 kmph avg with no movement by SWR to ask reduce Travel time or augment it with more AC coaches or to add a first AC coach (which is not avbl) or allot LHB rakes. Thankfully due to RBs intervention, SWR did away with VSG SBC UBL Link Express.
5. Now there is no increase in no of platforms at Vasco or no of outlines or creating additional facilities at Vasco Railway Station which clearly means there will be no new trains in next few years. Any trains added from Vasco goes via UBL and covers entire SWR without any constraints but when asked for via KR route ..sadly constraints at Vasco suddenly come to play including movement of rakes.
6. Also SWR is in no mood to run a restart the Meter guage Miraj/Belagaum - Vasco Intercity or to restart the Hubli - Madgaon - Mangalore Express
7. The taxi association and passenger association have had demanded some trains to Mumbai but the stubborn SWR didn't allow anything. I had been there at Vasco for 3 years and I know in and outs of the foul play by SWR.
As a conclusion I will say that RB has not be partial with SWR given the many trains going LHB in SWR, the funds sanctioned for Electrification and doubling, SWRs outlook needs to change including Vasco as well as its entire zonal territory . It needs to be more robust and more professional to make optimum use of allocation like other zones.
