The problem is not just with avadi but whole northern part of city. Govt as well as pvt give more importance to southern part of city which I think is not correct. Just because south has more affluent people north is ignored. What a hypocrisy ! MAS started from north and that north is remembered only on Aug 22 MAS day...
Its 's planned to develop in the lines of tambaram. MAQ Superfast has been approved for a halt here. Soon we can expect few more in upcoming years. As Avadi is the only place apart from Perambur in the north western line to have a Bus terminal/depot right opposite to the railway station.
I expect Railway Ministry to give halts of some trains like Madurai Chandigarh,Rapti sagar, Bengaluru Guwahati, Sangamithra etc. At Avadi station to benefit HVF OCF IAF Ordinance Clothing factory worker as most of them belonging to North people and Kerala people. There are two daily trains from Kerala stopping here for this reason. Even Punjabi too live here and there are one or two Gurudwaras in Military area. So MDU CDG halt much needed.
Could expect Avadi or Ambattur halts for future trains & some present trains can be included as now Slowly
