This is a station in Kharagpur. Trains coming from BBS side and going to TATA/ADRA side stop here instead of going to KGP to avoid a loco reversal.

Please check government data. Jakpur comes under Kharagpur Gramin area constituency under West Midnapur District.
Kharagpur has 2 vidhansabha constituency. Kharagpur Sadar and Kharagpur Gramin.
Jakpur, Madpur falls under Constituency # 228 Kharagpur Gramin and Thana is Kharagpur Local Thana located at the heart of Kharagpur Town in Inda Area.

Kharagpur is not just a railway town what u said. Railway has a major setup in kharagpur no doubt with Biggest station, Large workshop, huge portion of kgp has railways. But kharagpur also is:
1. Kharagpur has IIT - Biggest and oldest of all IIT's i think
2. Kharagpur has Indian Air Force Base at Kalaikunda and Salua

Iss station ka sabse badi fayde hai pehle Bhubaneswar Rajdhani aur Purushottam express ko Kharagpur mein LR karna padega lekin baad mein iss station ko prayog karliya Kharagpur ke liye. Aur iss station IIT ke thik samne par hai

If kalaikunda abd madpur belongs to kharagpur then kalipahari and barachak belong to Asansol.
And as per your formula Asansol has 5 station asansol, burnpur, damodar, kalipahari and barachak.
