Sbc has 10 pfs, only 8,9,10 connected to ypr side, which route serves to most of the state. First 7 are used by other state trains mostly, ones to Mysore and a couple to North karnataka.
Ypr- has 6 platforms, again has to serve most of Karnataka and highly congested.
Kjm-...
more... except for a Humsafar, nothing originates here, cos it's just more of a passing station.
Bnc- not a terminal again . A couple trains to ghy/bbs are originated only to decongest sbc. Otherwise no more facilities.
Ynk- pathetic connectivity and pretty far from the city. One kcg train n one gkp train forcefully started , no facilities otherwise.
Smvt- well , God knows if it will ever open.
So there are only two decent originating stations, ypr n sbc.
This is because of deacdes of neglect. Despite this , other states have more trains to n from Bangalore than intrastate. There are more trains to Bihar/UP/Howrah than to Karnataka itself.
When you say, there aren't enough trains to UP/Bihar , I understand you're comparing to Delhi/Mumbai bound trains from these places. But if you look at the number of trains to places within Karnataka, you'll realise they still have more trains.
Only in the last couple of years, Belgaum and coastal Karnataka got first dedicated trains. There is still so much demand ,from most of the districts. SWR is happy to oblige to the bus mafia.
