There was a meter gauge line going north from Bhagalpur junction to Barari Ghat. On the other side of the Ganga river, another meter gauge line connected Mahadeopur Ghat to Thank Bihpur Junction. There was a ferry service from Barari Ghat to Mahadeopur Ghat. Line was built in 1901 and discontinued some time in the mid 1980s.
A meter gauge train used to run on this line a few times every day. Used to transport passengers and freight. I think railways had a godown in Barari.
