When British Started Laying Railway Lines, Stations Sprung Up At Remote Locations Where There Was No BenchMark For Construction Purpose. So After Construction Of Platform ±MSL Was Mentioned on Station Board For Reference Purpose. Other Construction Such As Station Complex, Maintenance Facilities, Sheds Etc Were Constructed With Respect To Level Of Platform Or Say Based On ±MSL Mentioned on Board.
