1861: Evening Mail, 1867: 1 Chord Mail, 1870: Fast Mail No 9. 1867 run was via ASN-PNBE not Gaya (Its Chord not Grand Chord)!!
Earlier Class use to be highlighted: 1 & 2 Mail, 1 & 2 Interclass. 1 & 2 Mail. There was no space left to show Mail if Inter was mentioned. It was 1&2 Interclass in between HWH-BWN-ASN. Thats why i mentioned to check train's schedule in ALD-DLI where its 1,2,3 Mail as Inter use to run in between HWH-BWN/RNG!!
Its never tough to check which was Kalka Mail basis

The history of kalka mail is almost clear now, but I still have a few queries
1. When did bombay mail come into existence, and can we even trace it's chronology?
2. What about imperial? It's been argued much that it was different from bombay mail. In fact the TT shared shows it's run via Bina.

Its very complicated to track trains in a go. I am into MAS-MAQ, MAS-TVC Mail since few days. In between work its tough to track out as MAS-MAQ, MAS-NGT, TVC, CBE, SBC & Bombay-MAS Mail is very complex and at some time all got "through coach" shared in very complex way. I am trying to create timeline for the same!!
Imperial Mail was called this way coz: Bombay-Calcutta Line was termed of Imperial Importance by Lord Dalhousie as it connects Calcutta to Imperial British via Bombay (remember: the faster Service was Imperial Indian Mail not Imperial Mail)!!

click here The real 10 Mail: Mettupalayam DN 10 Mail (MAS 18:40, MTP 8:10) in 1920!! 1918 TT already shown by you with 10 Mail as through train to MTP which you deliberately named Mangalore Mail while slip from 10 Mettupalayam Mail use to connect 12 Podanur-Mangalore Mail (which was discontinued in 1880 as Podanur Beypore Mail until Calicut was connected in 1888)!!
That Slip from 10 Mail was fondly called Mangalore Mail by Natives, but what it become in later years as thru service...To be continued..

IRFCA Screenshot:
1944: 10 Mail is The Blue Mountain Express while Mangalore Slip become through Malabar Exp. Correct
1955: Malabar Exp become Mangalore Exp (513/514). Wrong. In 1954 Malabar Exp (Pic 6) diverted to Cochin & Mangalore Exp was new train (Dec 1954 5th pic) Still write up show Malabar Exp at Vellore & Coimbatore till 1958 (last 3 pic)
1960: Malabar Exp introduced

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
