8 isn't sufficient. Even with eleven platforms, it is difficult to handle trains during morning and evening hours. Pf 1-3 are short and dead end platforms, 10 and 11 are dedicated for EMUs. Only 6 PFS can handle 24 coacher trains. Added to it the location of GSN yard and with frequent shunting movements, it is difficult to handle trains during peak hours. If you look at the train timings, most departures are in the evening while most arrivals are in the morning. During the day the station remains largely free.
