adarsh 30 blog postsi m travelling in this train to chennai on 5th july, 2010..anybody who have been in this train before please share your experience here as i am going for 1st time in any garib rath train....

i'm also in same dilemma....i heard somewhere that limited luggage is allowed in this train...me too traveling on 5th july from ndls to mas..

luggage prov isions is all the same allowance of 40 kg whether you travel in Garib rath or rajdhani for 3AC. it does not make any difference. if you have more, you have to pay extra in the station and take receipt, else no problem at all. if you need bed roll set, kindly contact the coach attendant after boarding hte train and inform your berth number. refreshment/snacks/tea/ etc are provided during journey. lunch/dinner is served on order. generllay ok food - do not expect home quality food, but its ok.
GR is cheaper than all other concessions for a normal passenger and most people have many myths about GR. its the best value for money. have a nice and pleasant...

as such there is no official announcement by IR. but if you can and possible then postpone your journey. specially if you are going to long route e.g MAS to delhi. Bandh can impact on long route train strating 4th night and 5th morning. but on 5th night it will not be any problem
really a great reply sir...thanx...no i dont dont hv that much luggage...only 2 bags...which will be less than 40 kgs i think..hope i enjoy my journey..n i'll write my experience on board..thanx finally..
