Please flag this train. It is a practical connection between Mumbai and Bengaluru once the doubling and electrification work has been completed between Daund and Yelahanka. There is a big need of a faster connectivity between Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Make it faster - once the line is doubled and electrfied- trains should be able to complete the journey in less than 16h 30 mins. Any schedule over 18 hr will be competed by bus since a lot of passengers take bus as it is faster.

Actually speaking a full AC train is required on the route than a mixed Ac-NON AC rake.

I agree with both of you that this train can be speeded up further. I have already tagged this train as a Superfast one. But as of now, while working out the timetable, I had to keep in mind the other trains running on this route and their present timetable. I had to keep this train trailing behind SC YPR Garib Rath from Wadi to YPR. Once the timetable is revised for all of the trains on this route, it can be revised for this one too.

like Duronto/ Humsafar too can be launched separately, in addition to a normal Superfast like this one. Nonetheless, as of now, there is just one dedicated train plied between these two metro cities. So there is a scope to add a couple of more.

KJT is a technical halt, as mentioned, to attach the bankers. Hup is added to provide better connectivity to the region between DMM and Bengaluru.

There are daily trains from Mumbai to Bangalore via both SUR-GTL as well as MRJ-UBL so connectivity is not actually the issue.

The issue is that of passengers preferring bus and flights over trains, lack of a train that has comfortable timings, thus necessitating a train that can cover the journey in under 16-17 hours, preferably overnight, than a regular SF doing the journey in over 19 hours.

AC rakes are easier to run at increased speeds, especially above 110 KMPH due to lesser wind resistance.

Further, IR stands to gain a lot in terms of revenue if it is an AC train, since there would definitely be takers for the same.

A train that can complete the journey in 16 hours with a 21 coach rake can work wonders.

I meant that I wanted hindupur and its surrounding region to have the benefit of this particular Superfast train too.

As I said earlier, a separate Duronto train too can be plied with all AC rakes in 16-17 hrs. I am sure that this route has a potential to run a Duronto like train with few stops.

click here If they speed up Udyan express to cover CSTM-SBC in 18-19 hrs, this train could chug in with lot of revenue too. They should upgrade it to SF status with 50% of the rake being AC coaches.
