A simple Introduction to the Concept of 0 Base Time Table in Indian Railways.
Some Basics of Zero Base Time Table. What exactly zero base TT is, and what impact will it give the to system of railways once it gets implemented.
1. It is assumed that currently no train is running in the system and because of Covid-19 pandemic period, railways have got appropriate time to fix the "delay issues" which railways is suffering from last few decades.
2....
more... In last few decades many trains and halts were introduced by the local politicians which were highly not in demand. But because political pressure railways was unable to terminate the trains and remove halts which lead to shallow performance of the train with huge delays.
3. What is the solution?
Ans. With the help the help of IIT Mumbai statistics and analysis railway is studying all the halts and trains which are running in no demand.
i.e. If a train is running with low occupancy that is occupancy of train is less than 50% and passenger count of a particular train is less than 50. Such trains will be cancelled permanently. And halts will also be scrapped. A point will be taken in mind if another train of same origin and destination is serving the station or not.
4. Permanent cancellation of trains and removal of political/unnecessary halt will lead to running the trains with better speed and less time consumption, By implementation of 0 base TT, railways can reduce the burden from the heavy trunk route tracks and tracks will be more feasible to carry other new trains in better slot, better demand and better service.
5. Tight schedule trains will be placed in a slot in such a way, that it would affect the least to other train so that both fast and slow trains can run of time without impacting each other. Train timings will be revised in such a way that it could leave the origination and arrive destination in feasible timings.
