Don't imagine that HPT station is too big. Out of 415 routes most of them will be loop lines and most of them will be used by freight trains and wagon repair workshop
Trains/locos cannot enter/exit all 415 paths at the same time because most of them will be loop lines
Not from Main line itself, Movements from All lines including Short Sidings to any other lines in the yard or provided Station limit. Suppose there is one Track Machine & its movt from its siding to any one line in stn yard is also a route.
As HPT has large yard, with Ballari - Hubballi DL, along with line towards TB Dam & HPT Byepass lines. & various Railway Sidings, that results in various routes (along with track switches & various Signals) within Station.
