You must be wondering that Why I said nonsense.. It is because of this route which is just 6 years old and still on the verge of loosing it's top speed. The section now has 8-10 very long permanent/temporary speed restrictions of 45-50kmph. And you why ? Because of track quality, which is getting cheaper and cheaper day by day.
I suspect if the track sustains for one more decade if no maintenance is done rather increasing speed restrictions.
Imposing these would offer nothing. People of Punjab waited so long to get this track (LDH - Sahnewal-New Morinda -CDG). But now it is getting worsen due to poor track quality as well as swine under the track.
I have seen the trains running at 105kmph. But now it seem a distant dream to achieve it back.

As a railfan it's now so frustrating to travel on morinda sahnewal route.
I don't understand why they impose such stupid speed restrictions rather than repairing the track.
I started travelling on this route since 2017 mostly in Kalka-Katra express(14503). This route was awesome at that time. Line clearance was also superb and 14503 train was also...

fastest at that time even more than Shri Shakti Express but now what happens due to such stupid speed restrictions is that this train mostly reaches Ludhiana late and also Shri Shakti mostly running before time gets ahead of 14503 due to which 14503 further gets more delayed and has to trail Shri Shakti Express all the way upto katra till Shri Shakti is running before time.

I have faced the same issues. I remember traveling in 12242 when it reached Chandigarh 8:45AM now almost one hour it is put back.
That was such a great train.
Moreover FZR-CDG was another great train of this route. Having great occupancy... That too got spoiled.
Now be ready it is going to trail 12242 every day from November.
