I have something on my mind that I would ask all of you to clarify. We all know that 22109/22110 AC Exp. is also an LHB rake and is given a Raj-like slot between Bhopal and Nizamuddin. Yet it only got a 110 certificate from CRS (now 120?) and is mostly trolled between Bhopal and Nizamuddin. However, the new Raj has no such issues. WHY? What is it about the Rajdhani that section controllers in WCR/NCR are afraid to troll it? It is because it has some backing of politicians, or the RM, or both? Will the controllers get fired if they don't treat it properly? I honestly don't know the answer, hence, my question.

I then conclude that a train gets top priority in a foreign zone only because section controllers are forced to do so due to fear? If so, isn't this a sad state of affairs?

Because name matters. No train gets as much priority as rajdhani. Even Humsafar won't get this priority. More than political backing, it is about convention. Whenever controllers hear the name Rajdhani they follow a specific protocol to let it pass with very high priority which is not given to other trains. Kind of silly but true.

Though what u said is true, I feel all trains should get enough priority so that trains can maintain their schedule. It is not that only Rajdhanis should maintain their schedule just because it is Rajdhani. When passengers pay for their tickets they do expect their trains to reach on time. If controllers troll normal trains and accord high priority only to their favourites, then it is indeed a sorry state. IMO any train, slow or fast, Rajdhani or Passenger, should maintain their schedule. After all, TT is designed based on all operational parameters like class of train, congestion, pf availability, priority, etc.

That is my point exactly! It is sad that passengers travelling by AC Exp. which has the SAME schedule as Rajdhani after Bhopal have to sit longer in the train just because the fancy name is missing. See what's happening to Howrah-CSTM Duronto. When it was under Mamata's thumb, it consistently arrived at CSTM on time, or even before time. Now it's 1-2.5 hours late.

Sir, the load of this train is only 15 coaches, including EOGs. LHB trains with rake length of up to 18 coaches, including EOGs, can run at 130 kmph in NCR and do not require any CRS sanction. The 22109/22110 has 20 coaches, which is why it needs a fresh CRS sanction to run at 130 in NCR. It has been pending for a long time and only god knows when it will happen. The Rajdhani ran at 130 yesterday, including the return journey, when there were 3 extra coaches, increasing the rake length to 18 coaches. Lastly, the way section controlling is done in today’s times, the trains with premium tags always get the highest priority.

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
