I didn't speak to him ..one of our hpt member spoke to him ..he informed me about this ...6 months back drmubl inspected hpt - kty line along with him ..Yes ..they hv interest to open this line ..but there is no time limit so ..they doing work slowly..also swr top officers saying they hv shortage of workers so they r giving least importance to this line work ..

It was initially mooted as 4 lanes from Karwar - Ankola - Hubballi - Ballari - Nellore. Port to Port during NDA 1. The work is slow. Almost 16 years back they spoke.

When I travelled in July 2018, 4 laning work was under progress only in between Ballari and Hubballi. But 4 laning was not started in between Hubballi and Yellapur. Don't know about current status.

The area with the 100 is steeper than the one with 400. The 100 indicates that the height of the tracks will drop/raise by 1 meter for every 100 meter distance.
The smaller the number is on the gradient markings, the steeper the tracks are.
