here comes my 3rd trip report. My first trip by Duronto.
Date: 26th May, 2011
Source: Bangalore, Destination: Kolkata
All credit for this trip to happen, goes to my dearest of dear frnd (my childhood crush) and numerous demands of her little young sister (bhaiya plz kolkata aao na. bahut achi jagah hai. khub ghumenge masti krenge). I was going to meet my frnd...
more... first time after 13 long years. This time I made an excuse of my sister's marriage (best idea to take long leaves. but works once in a lifetime if you have only one sis). And my cruel manager amazingly approved my leaves without much questioning.
As the trip was planned on a short notice so I couldn't get confirmed tickets in YPR-HWH Duronto in AC3/AC2. Although DB Sir assured me that WL will clear, I didn't took risk and booked in SL (that too WL but it was quite less). On 26th May, the date of journey I started early from home at around 8.30 am as it was a weekday and being very well aware of Bangalore traffic hell. Reached sharp at 10.15 at YPR and saw green livery Duronto standing at PF#6. Rather going to check the PNR chart at each coach as my PNR wasn't confirmed I checked it at the enquiry counter. Oh my God!! I got EX1, 63... Thank God. it was SL. sharp at 11:15 am the train started and was moving slowly from Bangalore suburb. soon it gained speed. We crossed KR Puram, whitefield at very high speed. That time I didn't had a GPS enabled device, so couldn't check the speed (must be around 90-100 kmph). But later this trip ensured me that I would buy a smartphone. We were offered 2 water bottles. Soon lunch was brought to us. I preferred veg which was not good (5/10 marks). too less quantity, dull looking dal and sabzi. somehow i gulped it all. then I slept off for a while.
