The light fittings have been designed in an antique flavour with observation windows on both the ends of the coaches. IRCTC will be in charge of this unique rail coach restaurant at CRM. This is the second such restaurant in India, the first one being already operated by IRCTC in Bhopal.

This coach restaurant was made ready in a record time of 3 months and will have a food range equivalent to a star hotel. The cafeteria will have a seating capacity of 64 pax serving Chinese, Continental, North Indian and South Indian cuisines (both Veg and Non Veg). The menu will consist of items that were traditionally served in the famous trains of bygone era of Indian Railways and the names for the dishes have also been given accordingly.

Initially, this restaurant will function for 6 days a week from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm except Mondays. During the museum working hours (ie) from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, the cafeteria will cater to the needs of the visitors of the museum with the entry ticket. After 6.00 pm, once the museum is closed for the day, the users can directly dine in the Cafeteria without any entry ticket.

In addition, a small water body and a vanam (small jungle) inside the CRM were also inaugurated by S. Sairam, TV & Cinema Artist and Gautami Vembunathan, Stage, TV & Film Artist, in front of ICF Team of Officers and Staff.

The restaurant was inaugurated by Chef Sitaram Prasad, Corporal Chef, GRT Group of Hotels & Resorts and M B Venkatesh, Managing Director, Eden Group of Hotels, in the presence of ICF team of officers and staff.
