For all readers, pls check the satellite image (not MAP) of Manmad and Ankai stations.(Satellite images cannot be wrong as they are taken from a camera in the satellite).
At Ankai Station, 2 lines coming from South side - Daund/Shirdi and Aurangabad - meet up. After Ankai, 2 lines branch out towards the North in such a way that they enter Manmad Station from opposite sides. So technically speaking, even Ankai is a Junction.
Now trains coming from Daund/Shirdi have an option to enter Manmad station from either side. Similarly, trains coming from...
more... Aurangabad have an option to enter Manmad from either side. As such no train from any of the 4 directions to any other direction needs a train direction reversal at Manmad, as they can enter / leave Manmad as per their choice of side (other than Mumbai - Bhusawal or Bhusawal - Mumbai). It may be only due to operations reasons, that some trains may proceed Manmad after a reversal by taking a loop line behind it rather than from front of it.
