* R-TIG doubling was sanctioned more than a decade back and not a single KM is commissioned today. R-TIG doubling is a highly profitable doubling project and Naya-Raipur newline is newer project which is its loss making Material Modification.
* Funds allocated for this vital doubling project where earlier diverted to other projects. However it is a matter of satisfaction that the construction work has finally picked up since last 2 years. But diversion of funds towards the Naya-Raipur newline shall slow down the pace of doubling.

more... project is needed but the very high priority (completion before 2019 elections) is not practically justified as the settlement at Naya Raipur is going to take a some time. If the trains start operating from the newly constructed Naya Raipur in 2019 (before elections), they will run almost empty. Same is the fate of large network of wide roads constructed in Naya Raipur, which wear a deserted look due to lack of appreciable traffic.
* Very fast completion of Naya Raipur rail link at the cost of R-TIG doubling project is not good for IR finances too.
