Good and welcomes these moves by SWR, in Karnataka region.
Similarly, I requested our SR ,Chennai to allot more and more Sleeper coaches to the unreserved in the last leg of the journey .And moreover the day train operated by the available Sleeper coaches at least 80 % of the sleeper coaches have to be operated as 2S - reserved sitting class coaches.
Example in SR,::
1)All...
more... the South bound trains beyond Madurai ,some of the Sleeper class coaches in the front and back have to be permitted to ST holders and the short distance passenger.
2) In the main line trains after Mayiladuthurai some of the Sleeper class coaches have to be dereserved for the general passengers / ST holders.
3) Cholan expresses 50% of the sleeper coaches have to be operated as 2S - Reserved sitting class coaches .
4) Moreover S/F status of some of the trains have to be withdrawn in the last leg of the journey .All the south bound trains have to be operated as expresses beyond Madurai.Main line trains are operated as expresses beyond Mayiladuthurai ,so as the short distance express passenger have not be imposed additional SF surcharges.
So the short distance passengers patronages shall be improved a lot and empty coaches operation are avoided.
