SUB: SCOPE OF USING WAP-7 IN SER
Today I had a long Discussion with a WAP-4 Loco Pilot of SER at HWH on my way to SRC. He told me WAP-7...
more... is no doubt "The Next Generation Loco" for SER as because of it's quick Acceleration". I elaborately narrated him the Acceleration Figures of WAP-7/WAP-5 & WAP-4. He completely agreed with me. I told that why SER not homes WAP-7 at TATA ?
He replied that "NO DOUBT TATA HAS THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF HOMING WAP-7 AS IT HANDLES MANY G-9 WHICH YOU SAID IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. BUT THE PROBLEM IS IN THAT CASE WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE POWER OF EACH TRAIN AT TATA(IN BOTH UP & DOWN) AND SOME TIME WILL BE WASTED IN DETENTION OF THE TRAIN AT TATA FOR THIS WHICH SER DON'T WANT. RATHER, IF WE PROVIDE INFRASTRUCTURE AT SRC FOR HOMING WAP-7 THEN WE CAN EASILY ATTACH THE WAP-7 WITH THE EMPTY RAKE WHEN IT WILL DEPART FROM SRC FOR IT'S DEPARTURE FROM HWH . ACCORDING TO HIM SER IS THINKING ABOUT WAP-7 BUT AS THE SRC SHED IS VERY SMALL SO IT CAN'T BE POSSIBLE TO HOME WAP-7 NOW. BUT HE ASSERT THAT IN FUTURE BOTH WAP-4 & WAG-7 WILL BE STOPPED IN SER AND ONLY 3-PHASE CAN BE SEEN IN SER. HE ALSO CONFIRMS THAT YOU CAN TAKE IT GRANTED 3-PHASE IS THE FUTURE OF SER"
HE ALSO TOLD ME ARE YOU IN RAILWAY ?
AFTER LISTENING MY DETAILED EXPLANATION ABOUT ELECTRIC LOCOS AND DIESEL LOCS TOO(TAKING OF EMDs AT bONDAMUNDA rECENTLY)
THEN I TOLD NO SIR I AM A RAIL ENTHUSIAST SINCE 1990 AND 3-PHASE IS MY PASSION.
LASTLY HE REPLIED I AM AN ELECTRIC LOCO PILOT BUT I CAN'T TELL IN SUCH A DETAILED MANNER LIKE YOU AND YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN DIESEL IS ALSO VERY GOOD AND AGAIN CONFIRM ME THAT IN FUTURE DEFINITELY WAP-7 WILL BE SEEN IN SER.
THIS LP IS WELL TRAINED IN HANDLING WAG-9/9H/9i WHICH HE DISCLOSED TO ME.
I DON'T TELL THE NAME OF IRI(HESITATE TO TELL IT) AS HE PRAISING MY KNOWLEDGE ON LOCOS.
