Catch the extremely rare Dual Cab WDG4D Electromotive Diesel ( EMD ) Twins hauling a long Container Freight Train bound to Bangalore.

The rarity here is the Dual Cab EMD's themselves working in Multiple Units (MU) where as these Locomotives were specially designed for solely hauling Freight trains and hence they were fitted with Dual Cabs.(Cabs on both the ends of the Loco). Seen here both the EMD's were live and working together pulling the 90 Loaded Containers.

WDG4D is a 4500 HP Horse Power , Freight Class diesel electric Locomotive. The 'G' stand for Goods.These locomotives are built by Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) at Vranasi , India.

The Southern part of India specially the Deccan plateau is a extremely uneven rough terrain with steep gradients and curves. Bangalore situated at a Mean Sea level of 900 M above sea , a single Loco cannot perform the task seamlessly and hence it requires extra power to do the job. This could be one of the main reasons why these Locomotives were paired.
