“I travelled along with my family from Tirupati to Visakhapatnam by Tirumala Express on November 8. The train left Tirupati at 8.45 p.m. The journey was smooth till Rajahmundry though the train was running 30 minutes late,” says Naveen Kumar, an employee of Varun Motors in the city.
“After crossing Thadi Station at around 11.15a.m, the train was detained before Duvvada for more than an hour for unknown reasons. It finally reached Visakhapatnam station at 1 p.m., one-and-a-half hour behind schedule,” he says.

“More than 15 hours journey time by a longer route for a convenient train is unpleasant and a waste of precious time. Let the authorities concerned, plan to run a fast train from Visakhapatnam to Tirupati with limited halts or a Duronto type train otherwise people may be forced to migrate to buses rather than depend on this ‘fast passenger’ to Tirumala,” he says.
