Grievance Description : 12805/12806 ICE Janmabhoomi operated by Ecor from VSKP-SC covering a distance of 687KM with an average speed of 54KM/Hr with 17halts and 12hrs 30 min journey time looks like the longest day time train. The train was initially introduced in the year 2002 between VSKP to BZA and subsequently extended to Tenali to avoid huge turn around time at BZA. But it was extended to SC via TENALI and GNT on 1st July 2007 terminating Nagarjuna express between Tenali and SC operated by SCR. Now two full fledged rakes are operated between SC to VSKP by Ecor hauled by WDM-4 KJM power independently. The rake has 8-UR,2-SLR,11-D and 2-C coaches totaling to 23 coaches. It is an intercity running since 2007 without a pantry car and some coaches are not vestibule. The similar ICE trains running between VSKP-BZA Ratnachal,SC-BZA Satavahana,BZA-MAS Pinakini and SC-GNT ICE and SC-KRNT having different paths operated by SCR are all having PANTRY cars fully vestibule except Janmabhoomi.Except JB all other trains mentioned above cover under less than 400km using single rake.ICEs are meant to cover the distance under shortest time very quickly and return back to base for good primary maintenance. But JB is a jam packed train and vendors rush into coaches along with passengers create ruckus, inconvenience to the de-boarding passengers leading to many un warranted accidents.During summer season it is very difficult to get drinking water and vendors charge exorbitant rates for eatables from passengers. So providing a PANTRY CAR is very much essential as it is being deliberately delayed by concerned authorities for so many years on the grounds that no body is quoting for contract at Zonal level which is ridiculous. In view of the above it is suggested to 1).Cause instructions to Ecor to completely hand over the rakes(23 coaches) to SCR which has a provision for one spare coach to attach a i.e. pantry car.2). Please spare 2 pantry coaches to JB specifically and directly to WAT/Ecor as Ecor/Operating dept/BBS says in response to grievance stating that presently, it is not possible to add pantry car service to the train No. 18519/18520 VSKP-LTT Bi-weekly S/F Express due to shortage of Pantry Car in stock in East Coast Railway. However, your suggestion will be kept in mind while augmenting infrastructure. This grievance is lodged in the larger interest of public to avoid frequent accidents and many fatalities are reported over a period of time and also to avoid exploiting by vendors, unhygienic food items and other un-authorized persons frequently entering compartments thereby disrupting the schedule run of the train. Finally it is also requested to ensure that the existing coaches should be replaced with vestibule coaches with bio-toilets for smooth movement of passengers and pantry staff.
