The Most important points are as follows:
Electrification in all routes is the need of the Hour.
All popular super fast and non suoerfast should be made LHB(As LHB Coaches are expensive)
Discontinue WAM-4, WAG-5 and WAP-1 immediately from the operation of Passenger Trains. WAG-7 should be used for freight trains only. IR should refrain from using WAG-7 for Passenger Trains...
more... as this creates adverse effect on the goods Loco WAG-7 as per technical viewpoint.
Cost of running each train during a certain period(like Monthly, Half yearly and yearly) and profit/loss arising out of any train for a certain period should be ascertained correctly by such a committee which includes experienced personnel in train operation not by Chairman or Managing Director of any Railway Zone
Mandatorily provide WAP-7 for important superfast and non supoerfast mail/exp. WAP-4 should be used for the non important ones as because the WAP-7 fleet of IR is getting too old now after providing continuous service since 1994.
In Western Zone try to give WAP-5 in all important mail/exp trains as it has plethora of WAP-5 in it's BRC Shed. Try to use WAP-7 in a restricted manner in Western Zone as it has WAP-5 rather WAP-7 should be used effectively in all other zones except Western.
The cost of Ticket Cancellation and earnings on account of charges for cancellation of Tickets should be properly attributed to the Running cost of each train. Moreover the earnings of TTE for making RAC/WL to Confirm should also be properly attributed to the running cost of each train.
Production of WAP-7/5 and WAG-9 should be enhanced and production of WAP-4 should be limited.
