So, we agree that TPJ-PGT via DG, POY will be advantageous. There is no loss to pax in via ED route, as KRR, ED, CBE have more trains to Mumbai than TPJ. Again, you may argue that DG also has more trains. But if a train runs in DG-POY-PGTN route, it will provide link to PLNI, UDT, POY and PGTN to Mumbai, which is missing now. Less crowded route means train can move faster without congestion and other issues. 2 LR (DG & PGT) will take 30-40 min max, but think of connectivity.
